Explorer 760 Catamaran Description
Our new Explorer 760, is the latest adaptation of the highly successful Silhouette 760. With the removal of the foredeck master cabin, the new layout enables 360 degree views from the saloon and removes a considerable amount of weight from the original design. Further weight savings have also been achieved by the use of paints and synthetic wall papers, rather than the traditional veneer cladded walls. This reduction in weight has significantly increased the already spectacular performance of these 76ft hulls. In excess of three hundred nautical mile daily runs on passages will be regularly achieved in most conditions. With the reduction in weight, a reduction in engine size is warranted, increasing the fuel efficiency and reducing the maintenance cost. With two Yanmar 100Hp fitted, the Explorer has a range of in excess of 2000 nm under power.
An intelligent use of space has enabled the yacht to accommodate 10 guests and 4 crew in generous en suite cabins where the luxury of space will be felt throughout. Some of the beds are able to split into two single beds giving increased flexibility dependant on the guests needs at the time.
With the large amount of guests able to be accommodated on the vessel and with the level of service expected on a yacht of this size and stature, the design boasts a large well equipped galley on bridge deck level. The galley is complimented with ample refrigeration, plenty of work space and large storage cupboards, allowing for the crew to cater to the guests every need.
The yacht is also designed with the crew requirements in mind and has been fitted with generously appointed crews quarters located in the FWD section of the hulls. Both have en-suite bathrooms and ample storage.
The laundry and store room, which is accessed through the Captain’s cabin, is fitted with commercial grade laundry equipment. This reduces the dependency on any shore laundry assistance and increases the facilities and service available to the guest onboard.
In keeping with the Matrix Yachts way of thinking and simplicity in design, a large open flybridge has been incorporated into the design where all sailing operations are performed from a central point. This allows for a reduction in crew needed to sail the boat and increase in the safety to both the crew and guests onboard. A large electronically controlled dive platform has also been added which can be used for lifting the dinghy, lounging on a deck chair with you feet in the water as well as a dive or swimming platform. All this is simply operated by a switch.
The first Explorer 760 was launched in February 2014 and is presently being sailed to exotic locations with the guests and crew accommodated in comfort and luxury.
